Sean McDermott will sink his teeth into the role of serial killer Hannibal “The Cannibal” Lecter in off-Broadway’s Silence! The Musical. McDermott joins the Silence of the Lambs parody on January 19 at the Elektra Theatre.
In Silence! The Musical, rookie FBI agent Clarice Starling matches wits with the brilliant but insane cannibal, Dr. Hannibal Lecter (McDermott), in order to catch the mysterious serial killer known only as Buffalo Bill. Clarice faces her own demons while racing the clock to unlock Lecter’s clues before another innocent girl is killed and skinned by Buffalo Bill. Silence! features a book by Hunter Bell, music and lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction and choreography by Tony winner Christopher Gattelli.
McDermott starred on Broadway as Danny Zuko in Grease, Chris in Miss Saigon, Whizzer in Falsettos and Rusty in Starlight Express. He has performed in concert with Barbra Streisand, Bernadette Peters, Mandy Patinkin, Elaine Stritch, Johnny Mathis and Robert Goulet. McDermott has made appeares on the TV shows including Desperate Housewives, Charmed, Medium and Freddie.
The cast of Silence! currently features David Ayers, Pamela Bob, Ashlee Dupré, Stephen Hanna, Natalie Joy Johnson, Howard Kaye, Topher Nuccio, Ronica V. Reddick, Kimberly Stern and Doug Trapp.
